Desktop virtualization company Citrix has announces that come the March launch
iPad, users will be able to run a fully virtualized version of microsoft's latest
, windows 7 directly on the Ipad. Could virtualization be the solution
of two of the Ipad's biggest critiques, it's limitation of app's and
multitasking?
"Well if your company has Xendesktop or Xenapp you will be happy to know you will
be able to use your ipad for real work as well. It turn out the 9.7 inch display
with a 1024x768 screen resolution works great for a full VDI Xen Desktop. Windows
applications run unmodified and securely in the data centre, and even
multiple applications at once."Writes Citrix VP Chris Fleck on the company blog.
The only limitations of the software as of yet, is Apple's lack of support for
a mouse input device.
