Looks like a lot has been happening at the 160by2.com free web-based SMS service. Just last week we had told you about the plans of 160by2.com to foray into China. 160by2.com has now released a Free SMS ‘Mobile Application’ which has a plethora of features and using which you can send web-based text messages right from your mobile devices.
Some of the more salient features of this new mobile application from 160by2.com are its ability to let you send 145 characters FREE SMS from your mobile. The earlier limit used to be 80 character SMS messages. Using the mobile app, you can access your Mobile’s native Inbox, Outbox and Phone book, forward, reply or resend your Mobile’s Inbox and Outbox SMS’s directly from 160by2, upload and backup your phone book contacts, send SMS directly to your phone contacts. You also get to choose from over 5000 free SMS templates. This mobile app is available for all Symbian Mobile phones with S60 3rd edition or higher.

The free and secure SMS service and other offerings from 160by2.com have set new standards in the industry. The decision of 160by2.com lifting the wordlimit cap from 80 chars to 145 chars comes as a result of the gradual increase in the growth rate of the usage of services provided by 160by2.com
